Frequently Asked Questions
Question: How do I apply false eyelashes? (step-by-step)
Answer: For a step-by-step explanation, please visit our “Virtual Demonstrations” page and choose from Individual, Regular Strip and Vegas Strip lash demonstrations.
Question: What are the false eyelashes made of?
Answer: All I Envy lashes are made from 100% Premium Human Hair. Using only the best hair available, our hair is sanitized and sterilized. Unlike synthetics, human hair eyelashes move and blend with your own lashes, giving you an all natural look.
Question: Will people be able to see the adhesive on the false eyelashes?
Answer: We recommend Kiss’ clear glues if you have fair skin tones, and Kiss black glues if you have darker tones. After applying the lashes, you can always go back and blend the false eyelash line in with your natural lash line using an eyeliner of your choice.
Question: Can you feel the eyelashes once they are glued to your eyes?
Answer: You might feel a slight degree of discomfort at first, but with time you should not feel them at all!
Question: How many times can you reuse the same pair of false eyelashes?
Answer: Kiss lashes are individually handcrafted and made to last through multiple wears. After use, just remove latex glue and place back on tray to maintain its natural shape. If desired, you can also soak the lashes in alcohol to sterilize.
Question: Could I have an allergic reaction to the false eyelashes adhesive?
Answer: If you have known allergies to latex, we advise you NOT to use our strip eyelash adhesive. Instead, we recommend our individual lashes and adhesive, as this formula does not contain rubber latex. If you notice persistent irritation during or after use, stop use immediately and contact your doctor.
Question: How do I keep from looking clownish when I wear lashes? I would love to wear them but they seem to be too dramatic for me.
Answer: The beauty about false lashes is that you have total control of your outcome! You can go for an all natural look, using the shorter lashes, which also fill in the lash line to make your eyelashes appear thicker & fuller. Or, if you’re feeling a little more daring, you can try the longer, bolder lashes that really make a statement! For a softer, light and airy effect try a wispy lash like I envy By Kiss Au Naturale 01 (KPE08). For a bit more density at the lash line, try Juicy Volume No 1 or 2 (KPE12 or 13). There are several styles you can choose from to match your specific needs!
Question: Should I apply mascara before or after I apply my false lashes?
Answer: The false eyelash glue needs to adhere to both your eyelids and/or your existing lashes. It will not hold securely if attached to mascara that you already have on. To ensure the longest wear from your lashes, apply the false lashes to clean eyelashes. Also, mascara often causes clumping or curling of your natural eyelashes. If your false lashes are applied in this condition, it will sit on top of the shape created by the mascara and it will not blend naturally with your real hairs. Ideally, mascara should be applied after your false lash placement for the most natural look.
Question: What is the easiest way to remove false lashes?
Answer: In order for lash removal to be safe and easy, it depends mainly on the adhesive you are using. I-Envy by Kiss 16 hr Strip Eyelash Adhesive is latex based, so you can gently peel the lashes right off. I-Envy by Kiss Protein Semi-Permanent Individual Adhesive can be removed using an eyelash glue remover. Oil, petroleum jelly, oil-based facial creams, and moisturizers are also good tools to use when trying to remove false eyelashes.
Question: How can I keep my lashes on as long as possible?
Answer: The best method? Once they're on, try your best to leave them alone! Resist the urge to play with the lashes since this causes the glue to weaken. In addition, excessive touching of the lashes can transfer unwanted oils from your hands to your eyes. Since oil can break the glue's bond or prevent it from forming one, make sure you use an oil-free eye makeup remover, and steer clear of any oil-based creams or makeup on lids or around eyes.
Question: Can I use hair glue for my eyelashes?
Answer: Never substitute an adhesive that is not intended for eyelashes. This could cause irritation.
Question: Will the false eyelashes harm my own lashes?
Answer: No, when false eyelashes are applied correctly using the proper adhesive and removed safely and gently, there is no harm done to your own lashes. In fact, lashes have shown to become healthier from wearing false eyelashes because it replaces the need to wear mascara or curl your eyelashes.
Question: What is the difference between the white and dark adhesive?
Answer: I Envy by Kiss 16 hr Strip Adhesive (Jet Black) comes out of the tube dark gray and turns completely onyx black as it dries. The end result is a rich black line. Darker glue disguises the false lash line, blending seamlessly with your real eyelashes. Many women have also found that by using the Jet Black Adhesive, there is no need to draw a liquid or penciled line at the lash line to disguise the lash band. I Envy By Kiss 16 hr Strip Adhesive (Clear) comes out white and turns completely clear. If you are a novice user, clear glue is recommended as it is easier to work with.
Question: How much glue should I use when applying lashes?
Answer: When applying strip lash, it only takes a small amount of glue to adhere the lash to the skin. Apply a consistent amount of adhesive to the lash band. Your adhesive should not drip over the edge of the band and onto the false lash hairs. Applying too much adhesive will cause the glue to drip down and into the eye or the bottom lashes. For a “fools-proof” application, use a toothpick to apply adhesive to the band. When applying individual lashes, do not apply adhesive beyond the first third of the flair. Applying too much adhesive to the flair will create a clumpy, unnatural appearance while camouflaging the natural curl in the lash and weighing the lashes down. Too little adhesive simply will not stick! Please use accordingly.
Question: Should I use a tweezers or my fingers to apply the lashes?
Answer: Everyone has their own preference. It’s always best to use the method that gives you the most control. Also, use whatever tool allows you to get the lashes as close to the lash line as possible. It might even help to try a combination of both! Try using tweezers to put the lash in place then using your fingers to position the lash perfectly or vice versa. I Envy by Kiss also offers an Eyelash Applicator, which is great for first time users!
